Rosie the dog, who was reported missing, turned herself in at the Loughborough police station.
A dog that became disoriented while out on a walk in Loughborough voluntarily presented itself at the local police station.
After becoming separated from her owner, Rosie the border collie wandered through the automated doors into the waiting area at the Loughborough police station.
A camera at the station captured the scene on surveillance video.
She appeared to have a quick look about before she settled down in the corner, where she appeared to patiently wait for law enforcement personnel to fix the issue she was in.
“Thankfully, she was wearing a collar, so a lead was available to call Rosie’s owner, who was thrilled that she had been located safe and well,” the Leicestershire Police stated.
“Rosie’s owner was delighted that she had been discovered safe and well.”
“Rosie was being walked in the neighborhood with another dog when she managed to get away from her owners. What a nice, bright dog.”
She reported that her husband was “very concerned” over the situation, but just as he was bringing home their second dog, she got a call informing her that Rosie had been found.
“I was so glad and so happy she was safe and so proud of her that she was clever enough to find her way to the police station,” she added.
“I was very proud of her that she was able to find her way to the police station.”
According to the Leicestershire Police:
“Thank goodness she was wearing a collar, so a lead was available to call Rosie’s owner, who was overjoyed that she had been discovered safe and sound,” Rosie’s owner said.
