What does a baby bearded dragon need?

Bearded dragons are one of the most popular reptile pets in the world. They are native to Australia and can grow up to 2 feet long. Baby bearded dragons are very cute and have a lot of personalities. They are also very easy to care for.

A bearded dragon tank, baby bearded dragon, reptizoo need a few essential items to be happy and healthy. These include the following:

Housing

Baby bearded dragons require adequate housing such as an enclosure with enough space for them to move around in, climb, bask and hide from one another if needed.

The size of the enclosure should depend on how many lizards there are; however, a minimum tank size is recommended at 40 gallons (150 liters).

Additionally, it’s important that the cage provides good ventilation while also being escape-proof due to its inquisitive nature! Make sure it has plenty of hiding spots too like rocks or logs so they can feel secure when sleeping or not basking in full view.

Substrate & Decorations

It’s best practice to use reptile carpets over sand/dirt substrates since these types of materials may cause impaction if ingested by accident during feeding time which isn’t ideal for babies who aren’t able to digest food properly yet!

You can add decorations like artificial plants or sticks but make sure everything is securely fastened down with no sharp edges sticking out that could injure your pet lizard accidentally whilst exploring its habitat!

Lighting & Heat Sources

Bearded dragons need both UVB lights and heating lamps depending on what kind of environment you want them living in i.e., tropical vs. desert-type climates, etc.

A combination of hot spots where temperatures reach 90°F (32°C) along with cooler areas helps keep your beardie active throughout day cycles similar to what would experience naturally out in wild habitats so make sure all cages have this setup accordingly before putting any animals inside!

Food & Water

Feeding baby beardies requires special attention because they’re still growing into adult sizes; thus making nutrition a very important part of keeping up health standards long term basis.

Bearded dragons are omnivores, which means they eat both plants and animals. In the wild, their diet consists of insects, small mammals, and reptiles. In captivity, they can be fed a diet of vegetables, fruits, and insects.

It is important to provide your bearded dragon with a variety of food to ensure they get all the nutrients they need. A baby bearded dragon should be fed 3-4 times a day.

Vegetables that can be fed to a baby bearded dragon include kale, collard greens, mustard greens, turnip greens, carrots, sweet potatoes, squash, and green beans. Fruits that can be fed include apples, grapes, melon, and mango.

Insects that can be fed include crickets, mealworms, super worms, and roaches. Baby bearded dragons should also be offered a calcium supplement daily to help them grow strong bones and muscles.
