China’s military shows off rifle-toting robot dogs
China’s military recently showcased robot dogs equipped with rifles during military drills with Cambodia. These robot dogs, resembling something out of a sci-fi show, are designed for urban combat operations, reconnaissance, enemy identification, and target striking.
The demonstration included the robot dog walking, hopping, lying down, and moving under remote control. Additionally, an aerial drone with an automatic rifle was displayed, highlighting China’s range of intelligent unmanned equipment.
This use of robotic technology in the military is not new, with examples like the US Air Force’s robotic dogs in the Advanced Battle Management System and the increasing presence of drones on battlefields post the Russian invasion of Ukraine.
