Transforming Canine Companions: The Canine City Dog Training Program in Taunton
TAUNTON – In preparation for the arrival of his daughter, Andy Delgado sought professional dog training for his pit bull, ensuring a harmonious family environment.
This transformative experience inspired Delgado to embark on a journey to become a dog trainer himself, leading to the establishment of The Canine City, a dog training program dedicated to enhancing the lives of dogs and their owners across Brockton and Taunton.
At 31, Delgado offers a range of training options, including in-depth overnight camps and hourly sessions tailored to address the needs of each family and their furry companions. His program is designed for those struggling with unruly dogs, providing a structured approach to obedience training.
Delgado’s journey began in Brockton, where he was deeply influenced by the positive changes he observed during his pit bull’s training. Motivated by a passion for animal behavior, he turned to online resources like YouTube for self-education before enrolling in a dog training school in New Jersey.
With the support of his girlfriend and family, he launched The Canine City, aiming to share the knowledge that had made such a difference in his own life.
“My dog and daughter were able to co-exist after the training, and I wasn’t as stressed or worried anymore,” Delgado reflects on his personal experience.
The Canine City offers exclusive board training programs lasting from two to six weeks, where dogs receive several hours of daily training to become well-mannered family members. Delgado emphasizes the importance of basic obedience, covering issues such as pulling, barking, and jumping.

“Once we’re in week two, I can humbly say I always hit my training goals,” he states, showcasing his commitment to effective training strategies.
For dogs facing more severe behavioral issues, Delgado provides overnight camp-style sessions, where he not only trains the dog but also instructs the owner in effective training techniques. His comprehensive programs address a variety of challenges, including anxiety and aggression.
Delgado’s philosophy is rooted in a balanced training approach, recognizing that each dog has unique personality traits and needs. His mission is to empower pet owners, fostering a lifelong bond built on trust and respect.
“Many innocent dogs are being put down for behavioral issues that can be fixed.
Sometimes we misread them as aggressive when they’re just acting out,” Delgado explains, highlighting his commitment to saving dogs from unnecessary euthanasia.
In addition to training services, The Canine City also offers dog day camp and boarding options, ensuring that every dog receives the attention and care they deserve.
With a growing clientele that includes popular breeds such as XL bullies, German shepherds, and French bulldogs, Delgado continues to make a positive impact in the community, one command at a time.
